7 Tips for Taking Care of Your Car Engine

The engine is the heart of a car, bike or any other vehicle. So, you should take special care when it comes to the engine. Here are some tips you can follow to keep yourself in good running condition.

1. Chang oil filter on time:

If you have driven your car for certain miles, you should change its fuel filter. After a certain period, impurities and other particles start accumulating in the filter, which might affect the functioning of the engine. So, for proper functioning and clean flow of fuel into the engine, change the fuel filter regularly.

2. Pay attention to dashboard light:

Most of the drivers don’t care much about the dashboard lights that show us the status of our car. Pay attention to the lights that are on in the dashboard like engine light, battery light, oil pressure or engine temperature indicators. If there is any on the dashboard, always perform a service if you want a problem-free ride.

3. Changing the cables and spark plugs

The spark plugs and cables are directly related to the ignition system of your vehicle. if they are not in the right condition due to wear or age, it might affect the process of ignition and eventually, you will have a major problem. So, always make sure they are in good condition.

4. Keeping the motor ventilated and cooled

Temperature is the most important factor that could affect the performance of the engine. So, take good care of the air filters for proper ventilation and to avoid the accumulation of dirt on the filter. Always keep an eye on the filters if you want to prevent the engine from overheating.

5. Maintain an advisable level of fuel

Never let your fuel level drop below the advisable level, as it can lead to sedimentation of old fuel in the bottom of the tank that can damage your engine.

6. Keep the engine leak-free

Check for any leakage of oil or coolant from the engine regularly, as this might lead to failure of engine hoses because of high pressure and heat developed in the engine.

7. Change the oil regularly

It’s the most important aspect to consider. To keep the engine lubricated, you should change the engine oil on a regular interval as per the specification of the vehicle, or else your smooth ride might get hindered soon.
